Synnestvedta Anatomický popis burs horní a dolní končetiny, která vyšla tiskem v Oslu v roce 1869. Velkými přednostmi této práce je jak velké bohatství a ucelenost literárních citací nejstarších autorů, tak i správný výklad stavby a funkce synoviální membrány. Hlavní těžiště této práce však spočívá v neobyčejně detailním anatomickém popisu všech tíhových váčků horní a dolní končetiny, založeném na autorově vlastním zpracování fetálního i adultního pitevního materiálu. Morfologická data, která tato publikace obsahuje, jsou významná i pro řadu disciplín současné klinické medicíny, protože jejich aplikace může přispět ke zlepšení diagnostiky končetinových burzopatií.
