Teaching Unplugged beschäftigt sich mit Unterricht, der seinen Antrieb aus der Konversation erhält, dabei wenig Material verwendet und auf dem Anwenden der Sprache beruht. Der Band ist in drei Bereiche gegliedert: In Teil A geht es um die Hintergründe des Teaching Unplugged. Dabei werden die wichtigsten Definitionen, Theorien und Methoden kurz erläutert. Dazu liefert Teil B mehr als 90 Aktivitäten für die Niveaus A1 C2. Die Übungen orientieren sich unmittelbar an der Lebenswelt der Lehrpersonen sowie der Lernenden und lassen sich ohne lange Vorbereitungszeit einsetzen. Im abschließenden Teil wird die Anwendung des Lehrsatzes Teaching Unplugged in unterschiedlichen Lerngruppen und Lehrumgebungen diskutiert.
